After studying biology and immunology at the FAU in Nuremberg/Germany Verena obtained her PhD in biochemistry at the Gene Center of the LMU in Munich/Germany. In 2013 she started her career in pharmaceutical industry as a postdoctoral fellow and Research Scientist at Boehringer Ingelheim within the therapeutic area Inflammation & Respiratory. She joined 2016 Grunenthal working on innovative small molecule therapeutics for the treatment of pain and inflammation as a research project lead. Since 2018 Verena is a Senior Scientist at Silence Therapeutics in Berlin, Germany, and serves as a project leader in the Drug Discovery department.
